Police were alerted to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car at 9:57pm on Thursday, October 30, on Aspen Way in Canary Wharf. Both ambulance services and police attended. Despite the best efforts of first responders, the pedestrian, a 26-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The incident occurred on Cork Road (R680) in Waterford City shortly before 8pm on Sunday. The cyclist, a male aged 18 years, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford with serious injuries. The motorist, an adult male, was assessed at the scene but did not require hospital treatment. The road is currently closed to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

A 12-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in Chingford. Police were called to Loxham Road at around 3.30pm yesterday following reports of a crash between a car and a teenage boy. Upon arrival, the boy was treated by paramedics before being rushed to hospital with injuries thought to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made and police have asked any witnesses to get in touch.

The victim of Sunday's fatal road traffic collision that occurred just outside Tralee has been named as David Siegel (24) from Tralee. David was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10am on Sunday as gardai and emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle incident involving a car on the N69 at Ballingowan (near the Ballygarry roundabout). Mr Siegel was driving the vehicle and was the sole occupant when the tragic incident happened.
A man has died following a fatal road traffic collision near Edenderry, Co. Offaly this morning, August, 27. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision, which involved a crane and two vans on the R401 at Drumcooly at approximately 6:15am. The driver of one of the vans, a male in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver (30s) of the other van was brought to Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the N7 westbound at Rathcoole in Co Dublin. The collision, involving a number of vehicles, occurred at approximately 6.40pm this evening, Friday, August 22. The road is closed and westbound traffic is being diverted at Junction 2 (Kingswood). Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and use the N81 and N4, where possible, re-joining the N7 at Kill/Johnstown.
