"Clonboo native James Skelton (18) died on Sunday, January 18, following a single vehicle collision on the N65 at Moyleen, in the Loughrea area. James is pre-deceased by his loving mother Marian, his aunt Roseann and his cousin Adina. He is deeply mourned by his heartbroken father Ian, and his brothers Aidan and Kieran. He is sadly missed by his grandparents Martin and Ann Connolly, Roundstone, his uncles, aunts, cousins and a large circle of friends."
"The incident occurred on Sunday, January 18, at approximately 2.20am and James, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to the mortuary at Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe. The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The driver and two other passengers of the vehicle were brought by ambulance to University Hospital Galway with non-life-threatening injuries."

Funeral arrangements include reposing at Corrandulla Mortuary Chapel, removal to his home, Requiem Mass at St. Brendan's Church Corrandulla and burial in Gurteen Cemetery, Roundstone. The family requested private house and family flowers only and suggested donations to the RNLI. GardaĆ­ have appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage from the N65 between 2am and 2.30am.
