James Moyles, aged 33, pushed his four-year-old niece Cróia out of the path of an oncoming car and was struck and killed. The incident occurred in Ballina, County Mayo, last year. The vehicle involved was driven by Keith O'Brien, aged 49, of Lowvalley, Crossmolina, County Mayo. Cróia did not suffer any significant injuries as a result of the collision. Moyles was hit and thrown into the air by the impact. The event is recorded as a fatal road traffic collision with a child spared serious harm.
