A collision involving a lorry, a bus and a car occurred on the R132 in Gormanston at about 6:30am. The lorry driver, aged in his 40s, and the bus driver, aged in his 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene. The car driver, a woman in her 40s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries. A female teenage passenger was transferred from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to Temple Street Children's Hospital for serious injuries. Several other people were taken to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. Bus Eireann confirmed a 101 service bus was involved and said personnel remained at the scene while the company expressed condolences and cooperation with authorities.
