Founded in the late 1980s, the Emeryville Public Market offers almost 20 fast-casual stalls, with options like Peruvian street food, house-made BBQ, Korean-Japanese fusion, among others. Phaedra Morris, general manager of the Public Market, strongly feels that the international, fast-casual food hall is no less than a community hub. Between weekly brainstormer trivia, Wine Wednesdays, live music and drag queen bingo, Morris feels that its long-standing presence has deepened its roots in Emeryville.

We live in an era obsessed with protein. Popeyes offers two options for getting your frozen Thanksgiving turkey, with the bird available to be shipped nationwide and picked up in stores. This year, the turkey is priced starting at $54.99 for pickup, which is more expensive but not too bad compared to a normal Butterball-style frozen turkey from the supermarket. This is a rich and tender Bundt cake that uses a whole can of pumpkin purée. A big bowl of pumpkin batter is split in two, one half flavored with a heavy shower of cocoa powder, the rest left bright orange and spiked with a bit of cinnamon.
