Leaves are changing color and rain storms are sweeping through the Bay Area. Nosh will host a free kickoff happy hour on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 5–7 p.m., at Brix Factory Brewing, 2400 Mandela Parkway, Oakland. Attendees can learn about four new award categories for 2025 and submit nominations for favorite East Bay restaurants and bars. The nominations period ends Nov. 2 and will be followed by voting on finalists in ten categories. Brix will offer drink discounts and the Nosh team will be on site to talk about East Bay food. The first 25 people who cast a nominations ballot will receive a free slice of pizza from the 2024 winner for Best New Restaurant. The event is free; RSVP is required.
