Lady Gaga has been announced as a performer at the 2026 Grammy Awards. She's up for seven trophies-the second-most of any nominee, tied with producers Jack Antonoff and Cirkut-including Album of the Year for and Record and Song of the Year for its single " Abracadabra." The other performers at the 2026 Grammys are: Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse and Pharrell Williams, Reba McEntire, all of this year's Best New Artist nominees, and Lauryn Hill, who will perform a tribute to D'Angelo and Roberta Flack.

With six nominees in most categories, separate nominations for comedy/musical and drama, television and podcast buckets too, it seems there would be enough to go around. And yet that's hardly ever the case. Others left out include Joe Rogan, Sydney Sweeney and Gwyneth Paltrow, leaving room for plenty of surprise inclusions. Here are some of the biggest snubs and surprises of the morning.

Jonny Greenwood and Max Richter are among the picks for Best Original Score for a Motion Picture, recognized for the much-garlanded One Battle After Another and Hamnet, respectively. Nick Cave and the National's Bryce Dessner, meanwhile, became first-time Golden Globe nominees. The pair are up for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture for their title track to the Netflix drama Train Dreams, alongside the likes of Miley Cyrus ( Avatar: Fire and Ash)

For the first time, the President's Awards for Employee Excellence united Cornell employees across time zones and continents, as staff gathered in the Statler Ballroom and tuned in from New York City and Qatar to celebrate the achievements and contributions of their colleagues. More than 75 employees were honored in this year's ceremony on Dec. 3, representing Cornell's Ithaca campus as well as Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar.

The Latin Recording Academy unveiled the first slate of performers for the 26th annual Latin Grammy Awards, which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Nov. 13. Among the artists announced were música Mexicana acts Carín León, Pepe Aguilar and Los Tigres del Norte; sad sierreño singer-songwriters Ivan Cornejo and DannyLux; Latin pop icon Gloria Estefan, and Colombian rock band Morat.

Taylor Swift is the most awarded artist in the history of the MTV Video Music Awards. At the 2024 ceremony, she won seven Moon Person trophies, surpassing Beyoncé to break the record for the most VMAs by an artist, with 30 career wins. In addition, she extended her record for most Video of the Year wins, taking home her fifth prize for "Fortnight," and winning the category for the third year in a row.

In many ways, the race for the Áras is unique. Ordinarily, positions in public life are swayed by political expediency and partisanship, but the representative role of the presidency is less about the machinations of power and more about offering a relevant societal voice, reflecting our interests and identity. The office-holder is not burdened with concerns about the next general election, and ought therefore to have more of an eye for the next generation.

The board election for the PSF this year features four seats open, with nominations running from July 29 to August 12, and voting from September 2 to September 16.
