Michelin-Starred Sushi Restaurant Morihiro Finds a New Home
"At the new location, which opened October 10, Morihiro expands beyond its signature omakase to offer an a la carte menu of dishes like salmon skin salad, vegetable tempura, nigiri, zabuton steak and potato, and California rolls, plus cocktails from Han Suk Cho. The omakase, which starts at $400 and is only available to four guests an evening, remains the main focus of the restaurant;"
"The Victor Heights location offers 18 seats, plus a lounge area where guests can order drinks while waiting to be seated. Six bar seats have been reserved for walk-ins and a la carte service. Currently, the patio is being used as an additional waiting area but will eventually accommodate outdoor dining. Morihiro is now located at 1115 Sunset Boulevard, Suite 100, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Reservations are available through OpenTable."
Morihiro relocated from Atwater Village to a new space on the border of Echo Park and Victor Heights, opening October 10. The restaurant added an a la carte menu including salmon skin salad, vegetable tempura, nigiri, zabuton steak and potato, and California rolls, alongside cocktails by Han Suk Cho. The omakase remains the centerpiece, priced from $400 for four guests and featuring fresh cold tofu, hairy crab sunomono, more than a dozen sushi pieces sourced from California and Japan, and hojicha panna cotta. All sushi is served on Akitakomachi rice grown in Iwate and milled on-site daily. The venue seats 18 with a lounge, six bar seats for walk-ins, and a patio planned for outdoor dining. A dessert collaboration from Patrick Ta and chef Mei Lin will appear October 17–18, and Chef Marilyn launched a GoFundMe to help purchase a building threatened with developer sale.
