A fatal two vehicle crash occurred on the N15 at Birchhill on the main Ballybofey to Donegal Town road at around 2pm on Saturday, May 16. Two occupants in one vehicle, a man aged in his 20s and a man aged in his 30s, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Their remains have been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where post-mortem examinations will take place in due course. The Coroner for Donegal has been notified.

A large section of the car park was sealed off by gardaí for a number of hours after the incident as garda forensic investigators assessed the scene.

The bone was uncovered on Friday, March 20, during an independent search. Officers attended the scene assisted by forensic colleagues who have determined the bone does not belong to a human.

During a review of the case, investigators found a description of a possible suspect that had not been disclosed to the public. The person was described as a white man, 32 to 35 years old and 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He also had a thin build and strawberry blond hair. The review also identified a separate 2005 anonymous tip that indicated the person likely lived in the area at the time of the murder.

Police found the remains of 12-year-old Jacqueline "Mimi" Torres-Garcia in a plastic storage bin last Wednesday behind 80 Clark St. in New Britain, the Farmington Police Department said in a press release.
