"Emergency services were alerted to the incident at a residential premises in Grattan Wood, Donaghmede, at around noon today. One male juvenile in his teens was discovered with serious stab injuries and has since been pronounced dead. Two other male juveniles also suffered suspected stab or slash-type wounds which are not thought to be life-threatening at this time. Other people were in the property at the time but escaped without suffering physical injury and raised the alarm."
"A suspect, who is also a male juvenile in his teens, has been detained in relation to the incident, although gardaí have not yet confirmed if an arrest has been made. The attack is understood to have happened at a supported living facility which offers care for youths. A garda investigation is now under way, with detectives trying to establish the circumstances of the fatal incident."

Two other male juveniles suffered suspected stab or slash-type wounds that are not believed life-threatening. Other occupants escaped without physical injury and raised the alarm. A male juvenile suspect has been detained in relation to the incident. The incident occurred at a supported living facility for youths. The area has been declared a crime scene and sealed for forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. Detectives have opened a homicide inquiry and an SIO has been appointed. Neighbours reported banging, shouting and people running from an apartment; at least one person was stretchered to an ambulance.
