'Devastated' community promises to support family of infant killed in Tallaght road incident

The young child was transferred to hospital in Crumlin, but was pronounced dead, gardaí confirmed yesterday. Sinn Féin councillor Louise Dunne said the tragedy has left the whole community in shock and everyone is trying to support the family of the little boy."

Forensic Collision Investigators have since conducted a forensic examination of the scene."
"Meanwhile, a woman also died following a separate road traffic collision near Crosskeys, Co Cavan, on Wednesday afternoon. The collision involving two cars occurred on a local road in Carrickatober at approximately 3.30pm. One of the drivers, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her body was removed to the morgue at Cavan General Hospital where a post-mortem examination is due to take place. The other driver, a woman in her 40s, was brought to Cavan General Hospital for assessment."

Separately, a two-car collision near Crosskeys, Co Cavan on a local road in Carrickatober at approximately 3.30pm resulted in the death of a woman in her 80s, with another woman in her 40s taken to Cavan General Hospital for assessment. Gardaí have appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage and provided contact details for Cavan Garda Station and the Garda Confidential Line.
