The FDNY says a person is recovering at the hospital after an NYPD truck collided with a car in Coney Island. Emergency personnel responded to Cropsey and Neptune avenues just before 2:45 p.m. Thursday. Citizen app video shows the front of a black sedan smashed while the truck appears undamaged. Fire officials say EMS took the person to NYU Langone Health-Brooklyn. Their condition is currently unknown.

A Sonoma County fire engine was involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 11, in Windsor while responding to another collision, a department spokesperson said. The crash occurred about 3:15 p.m. as the engine was traveling with its emergency lights and siren activated, said Karen Hancock, a spokesperson for the Sonoma County Fire District. The fire engine was responding to a separate collision at Old Redwood Highway and Eastside Road

The crash happened around 12:15 p.m. at Highway 1 and Terrance Avenue, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said in a new release. Medical personnel rushed the teen to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. An initial investigation indicated the teen was riding the motorcycle at a high rate of speed on the highway shoulder when he collided with the truck, the sheriff's office said.

The accident occurred at 6 p.m. Saturday by the intersection of Pershing Drive and Manchester Avenue where a white Toyota Camry struck the woman and her 3-year-old child, who was a passenger on her bike, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Charles Miller. The mother and 3-year-old were taken to a hospital. Miller said the child was reported to be in stable condition but the mother had died. He said the driver, an elderly man, remained at the scene.

Provincial police say a 14-year-old is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Oxford County, Ont., Saturday. In a news release Saturday, Ontario Provincial Police said officers responded to reports of a collision between a snowmobile and a pickup truck in the area of Road 92 and 23rd Line in the Zorra township shortly after 10:30 a.m. The 14-year-old snowmobile operator was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, the OPP said.

PACIFICA A 75-year-old motorist who rear-ended a SamTrans bus earlier this month in Pacifica died Tuesday, authorities said. It was not immediately known if the injuries the motorist suffered in the crash played a role in her death, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Fassler Avenue and the Pacific Coast Highway. The motorist suffered injuries that were believed to be minor at the time, the sheriff's office said.

A 66-year-old man died on Sunday after getting hit by an SUV driver on Staten Island a week earlier, the NYPD announced on Wednesday. Cops say they responded to a 911 call of the man whom they identified as Staten Island resident Jean Victorin getting struck on South Avenue near Forest Avenue within the NYPD's 121st Precinct at 1:54 p.m. on Jan. 4.

Ontario Provincial Police say one person is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Kawartha Lakes Saturday. In a post to social media, police said a cargo van and a car crashed on Highway 35. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the cargo van was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A bicyclist killed last week in a Tahoe-area crash has been identified as a Lafayette man. James Booth, 42, died Friday, Nov. 28, after a collision with a car on Mount Rose Highway, the Washoe County medical examiner's office said. The crash was reported around 12:25 p.m. near milepost 17, in the Galena Creek area, the Nevada Highway Patrol said. A motorist fatally struck a cyclist riding through the Southside neighborhood Saturday afternoon. John Edward Muller, 65, of Richmond had been riding southbound on Telegraph Avenue near Haste Street when the driver, headed north, struck him, according to police and the county coroner. Emergency workers took Muller to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The police department's Fatal Accident Investigation Team is looking into the collision, Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Byron White said in an email.

A 26-year-old Brampton man is dead after a crash on Highway 401 involving two commercial vehicles east of Woodstock, Ont., police say. Emergency crews were called to the two-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of the highway at Oxford Road 29 in Drumbo at around 7 a.m., according to Ontario Provincial Police. When emergency crews arrived, they discovered that one commercial vehicle had rear-ended another commercial vehicle.

Soon after, they attempted to make a traffic stop at 24th and Capp streets. The car then fled and crashed into another car in front of the Napper Tandy bar, just one block away. A 25-year-old police officer was struck and killed after she stopped to help a motorist in an overturned vehicle on a San Diego freeway on Monday night, authorities said. La Mesa Police Officer Lauren Craven was on her way back to La Mesa from a jail around 10:30 p.m. when she came across the vehicle on Interstate 8 and stopped to assist, according to a statement from police. After exiting her vehicle to help, she was hit by another driver.
