A passenger was taken to hospital following a collision between a Luas tram and a motor vehicle on Old Belgard Road, Dublin 24, on Tuesday afternoon. Dublin Fire Brigade and other emergency services attended the scene at approximately 3:50pm. A spokesperson said the passenger was conveyed to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

At around 7:44 p.m., police officers were notified of a stolen vehicle, according to a spokesperson from the police department. Soon after, they attempted to make a traffic stop at 24th and Capp streets. The car then fled and crashed into another car in front of the Napper Tandy bar, just one block away. The two suspects fled from the collision site and the police officers pursued them by foot.

A 25-year-old police officer was struck and killed after she stopped to help a motorist in an overturned vehicle on a San Diego freeway on Monday night, authorities said. La Mesa Police Officer Lauren Craven was on her way back to La Mesa from a jail around 10:30 p.m. when she came across the vehicle on Interstate 8 and stopped to assist, according to a statement from police. CHELSEA, Manhattan (PIX11) - Multiple pedestrians were hit by a vehicle on 8th Avenue on Monday afternoon, according to the NYPD. The incident happened around 4 p.m. in front of 400 8th Avenue. Police say a box truck heading north on 8th Avenue hit a parked van, causing it to go onto the sidewalk. The vehicle struck a building as a result, according to the FDNY. At least 9 individuals were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - A four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Forest Hill Road and Richmond Avenue in New Springville resulted in multiple injuries on Monday afternoon, according to emergency officials. An 89-year-old woman died after being struck by a car in Coney Island, Brooklyn, on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred near West 22nd Street and Neptune Avenue when a driver, believed to have suffered a medical episode, backed into three women on the sidewalk. The elderly woman was taken to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn, where she succumbed to her injuries.
