SAN MATEO, Calif. (KGO) -- A Peninsula woman who rented out billboards in her search for love has received more than 3,500 applications from potential suitors. Around 9:30 p.m. on May 9, police responded to a gas station attendant's report of a loud bang at a Shell gas station at 1400 West Hillsdale Boulevard, authorities said. When officers arrived, they located a 9mm shell casing. In their subsequent investigation, police found that the suspects had shot at an occupied vehicle, authorities said. No one was injured due to the shooting.

Maverick Jack's has locations in San Mateo and at the Broadway Caltrain station in Burlingame, and its slogan is "Mostly burgers but also drinks & other foods."

The Bay Area chain founded 42 years ago abruptly closed its three other restaurants at 8 p.m. Tuesday, leaving only the San Mateo location operational with a full menu.

"I want people, at least around the San Mateo area, to have a healthy lunch or dinner," she says.
