Vespucci Ristorante Italiano in San Mateo will close on Dec. 31 after 11 years of operation. Owners Manuela Fumasi and Francesco Zaccaro posted a letter on the restaurant window and shared the announcement via social media, describing the decision as difficult but appropriate. The owners reflected on a beautiful adventure that was sometimes extremely hard yet filled with laughter, friendships, and memories. The restaurant will remain open through Dec. 31 with specified hours and is offering its 20 hand-painted tables for sale beginning Jan. 1.
