"A man died Saturday of injuries he suffered more than six years ago when he was hit by a driver in San Jose, police said. The collision was reported in the area of Lucretia Avenue and Summerside Drive just before 8:40 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2019, according to San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez. An investigation determined a man was driving a 2012 Dodge SUV southbound on Lucretia Avenue when he hit two pedestrians, a man and a woman, crossing the roadway, Hernandez said."
"The pedestrians were not in a marked crosswalk at the time. The man was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, but he was later stabilized. On Tuesday, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office notified detectives the man died from his injuries Saturday. Hernandez said the coroner's office declared the manner of death due to the accident. The coroner's office will release the man's identity after it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified."

The male pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital and later stabilized. More than six years after the crash, the male pedestrian died from his injuries. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled the manner of death accidental. The coroner will release the man's identity after confirmation and next-of-kin notification.
