They say the driver - a 20-year-old who lives in town - is now facing charges: negligent operation of a motor vehicle, wanton destruction of property, and leaving the scene of property damage. Police said Parks Department reported the damage to the bike path fence at Fino Field last Friday morning.
Joshua Johnson, 18, was killed in a crash on Todwick Road in Rotherham on 13 December, alongside a 17-year-old girl. But South Yorkshire Police (SYP) initially identified Trevor Wynn, 17, as the boy who had died and police informed his family. York police are investigating after a home in Richmond Hill was the target of a shooting for the second time in three months. Just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to reports of gunshots on Bryson Drive, in the area of Carville Road and Bathurst Street, York police said in a news release. They found a vehicle parked in a driveway that was damaged by gunshots.
A mass ultra-Orthodox Jewish rally against military conscription turned deadly in Jerusalem on Tuesday, when a teenage boy was crushed and killed after a man driving a bus hit the crowd. The Israeli police said they detained the driver and are investigating. Video of the scene shows a bus driving straight into a crowd of ultra-Orthodox men at the demonstration, attended by thousands.
An 11-year-old girl is in stable condition after being hit in the head by a stray bullet Monday in Antioch, police said. The shooting happened shortly before 12:40 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 3915 Delta Fair Blvd., Antioch police Lt. Gary Lowther said in a news release. At the time, the victim was riding in her family's vehicle as it exited the parking lot.

A 15-month-old baby boy who died under unclear circumstances was found in a bathroom alongside his mother, who had slit her wrists in an apparent suicide attempt inside their Queens home on Monday, cops said. Both the toddler and his mother were found inside the bathroom of their single-family home on 157th St. near 109th Ave. in Jamaica around 1:37 p.m., said police.
A man remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday, hours after he apparently shot himself in the chest in the heart of Midtown, blocks from holiday crowds enjoying a nighttime look at the Rockefeller Center tree and Radio City. Little was known about the circumstances regarding the shooting, which happened near West 57th Street and Sixth Avenue -- an area known as "Billionaire's Row" -- around 10:15 p.m. Sunday.
Bronx detectives are investigating the death of a four-year-old girl on Friday morning. Officers from the 49th Precinct responded to a location near Barnes and Adee Avenues in Williamsbridge at about 9:17 a.m. on Dec. 26 after receiving a 911 call for a female in need of assistance. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found the four-year-old girl, who was unconscious and unresponsive.

CONCORD Police were looking Monday for multiple people they said were involved in a smash-and-grab robbery Sunday at the Sunvalley Shopping Center. The robbery happened about 11:55 a.m. at what police said was a jewelry store inside the mall. Police in a statement said the suspects used hammers to break the display cases and fled in a waiting vehicle. Police said reports from witnesses of gunfire during the robbery were not accurate. Information was not released regarding how many people police suspect were involved.
The victim was brought to the hospital in life-threatening condition and his condition is still serious but is no longer life-threatening, according to Insp. Jonathan Rose. The preliminary information we have is that this was a targeted event, Rose told reporters at a news conference later Monday morning. Rose said there is no threat to public safety at this time. However, Rose said he understands locals will be concerned about the violence.
An altercation involving students and adults near a school Monday afternoon ended with gunfire, police said. Nobody was injured, but a building at the Sylvester Greenwood Academy in the 800 block of Chanslor Avenue was damaged. In a statement, police said somebody fired at least one shot after the confrontation happened. Police did not say what caused the acrimony. Officers locked down the school and a neighboring Leadership Public School campus while securing the area.
A person survived a shooting and was hospitalized over the weekend, police said. The victim remained in stable condition and is expected to recover, according to Richmond police Lt. Donald Patchin. Police have not made any arrests, and they continue to investigate. The gunfire happened Saturday in the 400 block of S. 25th Street. Police did not say immediately what time it happened but posted about the incident on one of their social media pages at 7:13 p.m.
Tewksbury police are asking for help identifying a driver they say intentionally ran over and killed several seagulls earlier this week. The incident happened around 12:06 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of 1777 Main St., a strip mall with several stores and restaurants. Surveillance video shared by the Tewksbury Police Department shows a dark-colored SUV plowing through a flock of seagulls resting on the ground, causing most of the birds to scatter and take flight.
