A woman was shot in Manhattan and a teenaged boy was blasted in Brooklyn in unrelated attacks within two hours of each other Sunday afternoon, police said. The 48-year-old woman was shot in the thigh while standing outside on 112th St. near Fifth Ave. in Harlem around 2 p.m., cops said. She was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition. Police are looking for two suspects who fled on a scooter, authorities said.

An altercation at a local liquor store in Fall River on Saturday may have led to the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. In a release, the district attorney's office said that at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Fall River police received a 911 call to the area of Leonard's Package Store located at 1331 Pleasant St. for "men fighting."
A 13-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman at her home in Swindon. Police detained the teenager after finding a woman in her fifties who was not breathing at a property in Baydon Close, Moredon, on Friday. Officers responded to reports of disorder at around 7pm with the woman declared dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
A man burst into a Roman Catholic church in Brooklyn, where he damaged a handful of religious items before being taken into custody, officials said Saturday. Keeonn Wilson, 33, is facing multiple counts of criminal mischief for his bizarre assault on St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church on Eastern Parkway near Utica Ave. in Crown Heights, cops said. Wilson entered the church at around 11:20 a.m. Friday. Once inside, he damaged several religious items, including an incense holder and two candle holders, cops said.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a cyclist was killed in a crash in south-east London, the Met Police has said. Officers were called to Old Kent Road at about 06:55 GMT on Friday after a car collided with the cyclist near the junction with Dunton Road. The 34-year-old male cyclist, who was treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, died at the scene.
A woman who sustained severe trauma at an Oakland residence Friday morning later died and her death is being investigated as a homicide, authorities said. No other information has been released about the woman. Police also have not yet said how she sustained the trauma. An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
Alexander Neilson, 28, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of murder by West Midlands Police after they were called to an address in Aldrich Avenue, at around 4.15am on Tuesday 18 November. When police arrived at the property in the Tile Hill area of the city, Anthony Priestley, 53, was found with serious stab injuries. Paramedics were called and attended the scene, but were unable to save Mr Priestley. Sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene, West Midlands Police said in a statement.
A 300-kilogram bronze church bell stolen in Bremen days ago has been recovered, the city's police said on Friday. A recycling center employee contacted the authorities to notify them he had purchased the stolen bell from two unknown men, before later learning about the stolen church bell and connecting the dots. The bell will return to the tower of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Bremen, which is mostly used now as a charity shop.
Officers were dispatched to Lone Tree Way and West Tregallas Road around 2:45 a.m. for reports of a person down in the roadway, Antioch police Lt. William Whitaker said in a news release. They arrived to find a person "who appeared to have been involved in a physical altercation," Whitaker said. The victim received aid at the scene and was taken to an area hospital, Whitaker said.
A man died Tuesday morning after being hit by an Amtrak train while trying to walk or run across train tracks in East Oakland, police said. The collision happened about 9:40 a.m. near the intersection of 37th Avenue and E. 9th Street. Police did not identify the man immediately, pending notification of relatives. According to police, the man may have been fleeing from a dispute he had with somebody else in the area.

SAN JOSE - More than 100 vehicles were burglarized at four housing complexes last weekend in San Jose, and now police are asking the public to help identify the suspect. Between 10 p.m. on Nov. 8 and 1 a.m. on Nov. 9, the San Jose Police Department received 114 reports of vehicle burglaries at complexes in the 300 block of Cres Village Circle, 3400 block of Iron Point Drive, 3700 block of Casa Verde Street and 100 block of Baypointe Parkway, according to police spokesperson Stacie Shih.
The residents, a man and woman in their 80s, were awake on the first floor of the home when they heard glass break. When the woman went to investigate the source of the noise, she saw a man walking up the stairs toward the second floor and a second man standing just inside the back door. Upon hearing the female resident scream, both suspects ran out the back door and were observed fleeing in a vehicle.

Police are investigating whether the man accused of trying to kill 10 people during the Huntingdon train attack is linked to a string of knife incidents in the hours before the bloody rampage. Anthony Williams, 32, was charged on Monday morning with 10 counts of attempted murder after an attack on an LNER train to London King's Cross on Saturday evening.
We are aware of three incidents that occurred in Peterborough on Friday evening (31 October) and Saturday morning (1 November). The first incident of a man with a knife at a barber's in Fletton happened at 7.25pm on Friday but was reported to us at 9.10pm two hours after the incident occurred. At the time of reporting the man was no longer there and had not returned, so we did not send officers, but a crime was raised.
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has offered to pay for the medical treatment of any club fans injured in a mass stabbing on a Doncaster-to-London train. The attack left 11 people injured, two of them critically. Many of those on board were Forest supporters returning to London after the team's 22 draw with Manchester United. Everyone at Nottingham Forest is shocked and deeply saddened by what happened, said Marinakis.
