Boy, 13, struck, critically injured by driver while crossing Brooklyn street

The collision occurred just after 8 a.m. on 15th Ave near 38th St. The boy suffered serious head injuries and was in critical condition at Maimonides Medical Center. The 55-year-old driver stayed at the scene and was driving a Nissan Versa south on 15th Ave. Police said the driver was not immediately charged or summonsed, and the incident remains under investigation. The impact caused a large dent on the hood of the car.
