Officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to reports of an impaired driver in a school bus driving haphazardly and attempting to enter a McDonald's drive-thru. The bus collided with a barrier near Taunton Road W. and Westney Road N. Police conducted a traffic stop and managed to stop the bus. The driver appeared impaired and was taken into custody. Investigators found the bus was stolen after an unlawful entry into a North York bus yard, with possible damage to other parked vehicles. The suspect also stole radios and keys to other vehicles in the yard. The man faces five charges, including impaired operation, two counts of breached probation, and two counts of possession of property obtained through crime worth over $5,000.
