An explosion has rocked a busy neighbourhood in India's capital New Delhi, causing panic near the landmark Red Fort in the city. Footage broadcast by Indian television channels and videos circulating online on Monday showed flames and several vehicles affected by the explosion. Local media said the incident took place near a metro station, and the explosion appeared to take place inside a vehicle.
A passenger train has crashed into a cargo train in central India, killing at least 11 people. The local passenger train hit the cargo train from behind near the city of Bilaspur, about 115 kilometres (70 miles) northeast of Chhattisgarh's state capital of Raipur on Tuesday night, senior government official Sanjay Agarwal told The Associated Press. One of the passenger carriages ended up on top of a wagon from the cargo train, Agarwal added.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake's epicenter was located 22 kilometers (14 miles) west-southwest of the town of Khulm, and that it struck at 12:59 a.m. at a depth of 28 kilometers (17 miles). Sharafat Zaman, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, said 534 injured people and 20 bodies had been brought to hospitals in Balkh and Samangan provinces. A one-year-old child has died following a hazardous materials incident at a flat in east London, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has said. Fire crews were called to a property in Barking Road, Upton Park, in Newham, after two adults and two children attended hospital complaining about a smell of chemicals in a flat. The one-year-old child later died in hospital while receiving treatment. Around 12 people were evacuated from surrounding properties as a precaution as crews responded, LFB said.
The Metropolitan Police is set to deploy remotely launched drones across London to bolster its emergency response efforts. A new trial will see these unmanned aerial vehicles provide crucial intelligence to officers on the ground and in a central control room. Responding to 999 calls, the drones will be launched from the force's control room and expertly piloted by trained operators. They are expected to reach incident scenes within two minutes, streaming live footage directly to assist police personnel.
Two people are dead after a Boeing 747 cargo plane landing at Hong Kong International Airport veered off the runway and into the sea on Monday. According to a statement from Hong Kong's civil aviation department, the incident happened at around 3:50 a.m. local time. The department said the flight, which was arriving from Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport, had "deviated from the North Runway after landing and ditched into the sea."
Emergency services including local gardaí and fire brigades from Kilkenny city and Thomastown were called to the scene of the crash involving a van and horses on the slip road at Junction 8 on the M9 Southbound at Kilkenny city. The crash occurred at approximately 6am this morning. The occupants of the van did not sustain any injuries, but a number of horses were killed when they were struck by the vehicle.

A building has collapsed in central Madrid, on No. 4 Hileras Street of the Spanish capital. So far, four people are reported missing according to Madrid city officials, three men and one woman. The number of injured remains unclear. One of the injured was taken to hospital by ambulance with apparently serious bone fractures. At the scene, 11 units of the Madrid Fire Department were working following the partial collapse of several floors in the building, which was undergoing renovation.
