Child among three dead after tower block fall

Three people, including a child, died after falling from a high-rise block of flats in Elephant and Castle, south London. Emergency services were called to Churchyard Row at 07:29 BST on Wednesday after reports of people falling from height. Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended with the London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance, and the London Fire Brigade. A man, a woman, and a child were found at the scene. Emergency crews attempted resuscitation, but all three were pronounced dead. Police said the deaths were unexpected and that no other injuries had been reported. Formal identification is under way, and next of kin have been informed and supported by specialist officers.
