Gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of a male youth getting into difficulty in the water at Emy Lough in Emyvale, County Monaghan, at around 5pm on Monday. Medical assistance was provided at the scene. The youth was then airlifted to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin. His condition is described as critical.
