A multi-agency response was launched after a farm accident in South Wexford on Tuesday afternoon. National Ambulance Service and the Fire Service responded to Clonmines near Wellingtonbridge, where a young agricultural contractor in his 20s was reportedly trapped under fallen farm machinery. Paramedics and firefighters worked together to treat him, and the NAS Air Ambulance was requested as a precaution for possible airlift. After he was freed, he was transferred by ambulance to Wexford General Hospital, where his injuries were described as serious but non-life-threatening. Emergency services also responded to a separate crash at Drinagh outside Wexford town involving a motorbike and an SUV, sending a man in his 70s to hospital with serious injuries.
