High winds and heavy rains caused scattered power outages across Toronto, leaving some residents without electricity. Toronto Hydro reported responding to more than 145 incidents, largely caused by downed powerlines and trees near wires. Most outages were restored, while crews continued work on remaining issues. Restoration during severe weather required securing areas, removing debris, replacing damaged equipment, and testing systems before power could be restored. Toronto Hydro prioritized calls related to first responders. Residents were warned to stay at least 10 metres away from any downed powerline and report it immediately. Toronto Fire reported 671 emergency incidents in the past 24 hours, with call volumes 36 per cent higher than usual, including downed wires, water-related issues, and medical incidents.
