The family of Muriel McKay, who was kidnapped and murdered more than 55 years ago and whose remains have never been found, cannot perform a radar scan of a shared back garden in east London where they believe she is buried, a High Court judge has ruled. Ms McKay, the wealthy wife of newspaper executive Alick McKay, was kidnapped for a 1 million ransom in 1969 after being mistaken for Anna Murdoch, the then-wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
More than 600 pounds of illegal marijuana products are off the streets following an alleged kidnapping in Dyker Heights that led authorities to a basement safe roompacked with narcotics, police said. The trial for an investor who allegedly kidnapped Ontario's self-proclaimed 'Crypto King' after losing hundreds of thousands of dollars to him is set to begin Tuesday in Toronto. Akil Heywood, 41, is facing three charges related to the alleged kidnapping of Aiden Pleterski in early December 2022, and two counts of extortion. There are times in a TV critic's life when a series to which they are assigned inspires them to write reams of text, sometimes because said series is good, sometimes because it's bad. Then there is what I like to call critic purgatory, when the series inspires nothing. Neither impressive nor dreadful, the series is adrift in the doldrums of artistry. If they handed out Emmys for dull television, then I am certain "Hostage," a limited British series now airing on Netflix, would make a clean sweep.
