Tammi Hamby, former chair of the Crawford County Library System board, was arrested with three others after an alleged plot to kidnap her 22-year-old adopted daughter on November 17. Hamby allegedly devised the plan to scare the daughter into stopping communications with someone online who claimed to be country singer Luke Bryan. The daughter's in-home nursing assistant recruited two men who lured her from her home, demanded money, zip-tied her wrists to a tree and left while Hamby watched from a distance. The daughter freed herself, reached a nearby house, and deputies responded, leading to arrests.
