A Coney Island man was arraigned on attempted murder, assault, arson and related charges for a series of violent slashings and an arson in Brooklyn.
Much like a fatal stabbing involving teenagers at San Jose's other large mall, Santana Row, back in February, the alleged shooter in this case did not actually know the men he allegedly intended to shoot, but he perceived them to be members of a rival street gang, just because of the colors they were wearing. (The 15-year-old boy killed in February, who was not a gang member, was allegedly targeted because he was wearing a red jacket on Valentine's Day.)
The victim had met and befriended a woman known as Chris while in Mexico about a month and a half before the incident, prosecutors said. The relationship between the two, which was non-romantic, continued after they returned home to East Palo Alto, with the pair meeting at a local McDonald's and talking over social media, prosecutors said. Chris confided in the victim about domestic issues she was having with her ex-partner.
Painter said that the bullet is lodged in McFarlane's spine at the level of L4 and is in-operable, meaning it cannot be removed. This has affected his ability to walk, as well as his bowel and bladder function. He now requires "intensive physical therapy" and is not able to work to support himself or his pets for the "foreseeable future."
QUEENS, NY - A Brooklyn man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a fellow passenger who asked him to quiet down during a cellphone call on an E train in Queens. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that 50-year-old Johnny Wood was arraigned on charges including attempted murder, assault, and weapon possession following the violent encounter. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on November 22 aboard a World Trade Center-bound E train stopped at the Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer station.
The Crown submit the accused deliberately drove at speed into a police car driven by Pc Gary Cowan and Pc Kelly Ferris while it was stationary. After colliding with it he then pursued PC Cowan and other officers, threatening them with a chainsaw with the intention of causing them serious harm. I submit you can draw that inference of murderous intent by driving and colliding with the police vehicle but also of the pursuit while wielding an activated chainsaw.

Five members of an alleged Brooklyn biker gang face charges of attempted murder and assault following a frenzied East Flatbush gun battle last spring, the Brooklyn District Attorney said Thursday. The bikers turned a residential street "into chaos," Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez said in a statement, "sending bystanders running for their lives." Members of the Brooklyn-based "Street Knights" biker gang were holding an anniversary party at an event hall between Utica and Foster avenues in April
Jazz Reid fired a volley of 11 shots, hitting the child twice and the 34-year-old man five times as they sat with other family members in a car in Ladbroke Grove, north-west London, on November 24. It was one of three linked shootings involving the use of two guns, one of which was recovered from underneath a concrete slab outside 33-year-old Reid's home following his arrest, jurors were told.
We have been deeply touched by the outpouring of love and kindness shown to Sam, and by the many well wishes for his recovery. The care provided by the hospital and the support from his colleagues at LNER has been incredible. We are immensely proud of Sam and his courage. The police called him a hero on Saturday evening, but to us he's always been a hero.
Police are investigating whether the man accused of trying to kill 10 people during the Huntingdon train attack is linked to a string of knife incidents in the hours before the bloody rampage. Anthony Williams, 32, was charged on Monday morning with 10 counts of attempted murder after an attack on an LNER train to London King's Cross on Saturday evening.
One Sunday, when he was bringing me back home, my mom (unprovoked) stabbed my father in the chest. As he lay dying in the hallway, someone called an ambulance. After being in a coma for a week, he miraculously woke up. The hospital was telling my grandma to prepare themselves for his death. When the police came and questioned my dad, he lied and said he had no idea who did it.

As Courthouse News reports, the scene at the Solano County Courthouse in Central California earlier this week was pandemonium as 30-year-old Alex "Somni" Leatham and 24-year-old Suri Dao awaited the official date for their trial, in which both are charged with the attempted murder of their former landlord, Curtis Lind, who was blinded during a 2022 katana attack over a rent dispute - an assault that ultimately became the first of six violent crimes associated with the loose group.
One of two defendants with ties to the Zizian cult appeared before a Solano County Superior Court judge on Thursday and requested to fire her defense attorney. The request comes five weeks before the start of a jury trial for Alexander Jeffrey Leatham, 30, and co-defendant Suri Dao, 24, who are charged in connection with the 2022 attempted murder of a Vallejo landlord and face felony murder charges because one of their alleged accomplices died during the attack.
