Ruben Guanipa Ramirez, a 26-year-old Venezuelan, was indicted on charges of attempted murder and assault after a violent incident at Gilgo Beach. On February 28, he picked up the victim in Queens, played pool, and later drove to Gilgo Beach. There, he attacked the victim from behind, stabbing him multiple times. The victim managed to wrestle the knife away and escaped, calling 911 for help. Ramirez was arrested later that day, with evidence found in his vehicle linking him to the crime.
