A 36-year-old Redwood City man was arrested for armed home invasions in San Carlos, including one targeting an elderly woman's residence.
A man wanted in connection with a Brooklyn shooting was picked up in the village of Herkimer on Wednesday and has since been turned over to New York City authorities. Local police identified the suspect as Lesley Jemison and said officers took him into custody after locating him in the village on an active attempted-murder warrant, according to local officials.
The videos, which were reviewed by Gothamist, show one child being grabbed by their clothing and tossed and another being grabbed and held upside down. Other videos viewed by Gothamist show a worker pointing a broom at a child in a high chair, two toddlers left inside their portable cribs alone in a bathroom, and children eating lunch on the floor of another location that was not the approved day care facility.
Applause broke out during an Oklahoma man's speech at a city council meeting on Tuesday to discuss a proposed data center. A minute later, shouts of disbelief rang out across the room. "Disgusting!" one woman shouted as Claremore Police Department officers handcuffed and escorted Daniel Blanchard out of the room. Authorities said they arrested Blanchard, whose speech exceeded the three-minute time limit, for trespassing.
Monterey County Sheriff's have arrested a Gonzales man for the murder of his wife last Friday, after he called 911 to report a medical emergency, just outside the Gonzales city limits. Pablo Villasenor, 66, told emergency dispatchers that his wife was bleeding and that he did not know how it happened. Sheriff's deputies responding to the call found 60 year-old Carmen Vega Tapia with severe lacerations.
He wanted something in return for returning files to the Dutch police. What he got in return was an arrest. A press release from Dutch police sums it up: On Thursday evening around 7:00 PM, police arrested a 40-year-old man from Ridderkerk on Prinses Beatrixstraat in Ridderkerk for computer hacking. Due to a police error, the man had inadvertently gained access to confidential police documents.
According to police, Signal pushed a 51-year-old woman onto the tracks, then punched Benita Frias, 43, in the face. Signal then left the station and allegedly punched a 17-year-old girl in the face at 52nd Street and Fourth Avenue. Officers found Signal about two blocks away and took him into custody. He is facing multiple charges, including assault, harassment and reckless endangerment.
Despite being wanted by Italian authorities, he returned to the country with the intention of watching his national hockey team at the Winter Olympics, Italian media reported, citing the Carabinieri. Police said the Slovak national had an arrest warrant issued 16 years earlier for a series of thefts. They managed to track him down and swooped on him after he checked into a guest house situated in the outskirts of Milan.
James Morgan, husband of NYPD Blue alum Kim Delaney, was reportedly arrested Sunday night after no fewer than four 911 callers reported a family disturbance at their Los Angeles-area apartment complex. Deputies raced to Marina Del Rey, where the couple lives, and arrested Morgan for obstructing or delaying a public officer, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told TMZ. He was being held pending a Tuesday court appearance, TMZ reported.
Police said two women forced their way inside a fourth-floor unit and followed two women to a stairwell on the south side of the building. The victims took an elevator back to the fourth floor and were walking back to the apartment when one of the suspects pointed a handgun at the head of one of the victims, according to police.
Police have announced the arrest of two men in their 40s in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy this past weekend, which marked the city's first homicide of the year. The shooting was reported at 4:48 p.m. in the 1500 block of Winchester Boulevard, near the Cadillac-Winchester neighborhood, for a report of shooting in a parking lot, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Officers found the girl dead with several injuries near the Antioch Fairgrounds on Jan. 23. Authorities identified her as Jeana Flores, of Antioch. She was on the roadway in the area of L Street between W. 10th and W. 18th streets. Police initially treated her death as a suspicious one. Autopsy results revealed that Flores had been hit by a vehicle and the police department's traffic unit took over the investigation.
