Officers initially attempted to stop a man on a motorbike after he had been spotted with a false number plate. In bodycam footage released by the Met Police on X, officers are seen chasing down the rider before he crashes into an officer's bike. The suspect then takes off on foot.
The driver of the stolen Honda drove in excessive speeds during the entire pursuit. A sergeant called off the chase after the boy turned right onto southbound O'Hara Avenue, police said. A man fleeing police Thursday night ended up needing rescuing after authorities say he jumped a wall and fell down a hole at a construction site. Police officials said officers were chasing the 27-year-old man on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle when he abandoned the vehicle in Lincoln Heights. From there, the man ran onto a construction site near Sichel Street and Alhambra Avenue, where he jumped a wall and fell down a 30-foot hole, becoming trapped, KABC reported.

A suspected car thief being chased by police in Los Angeles on Monday night was killed after news cameras broadcasting the chase live on TV showed him jump out of the van on the freeway and get hit by multiple vehicles. (KGO) -- Several juveniles were arrested Sunday after Concord police say they broke into the Sunvalley Mall just before 4 a.m. Police released a photo of a smashed door, saying a large group forced entry through the glass doors. Officers arrived just as the suspects were exiting. Investigators say they arrested three people at the mall, but four others tried to escape in a car.
