Metropolitan Police A convicted sex offender who was accidentally released from prison has pleaded guilty to burglary and carrying a knife. Brahim Kaddour-Cherif, 24, became the centre of a manhunt in November after he was mistakenly set free from HMP Wandsworth while on remand awaiting trial for the offences. On Tuesday, Kaddour-Cherif appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court and admitted breaking into a garage in Walthamstow, east London and stealing bikes in January 2024.

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a burglary that took place at the home of Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the Medina County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday. The three individuals who broke into Sanders' home Nov. 16, as well as the driver of the vehicle involved, have been identified, according to a news release. The fourth suspect is at large with an active warrant for his arrest, according to the release, which also stated that the investigation has been completed.

LOS ANGELES -- A 22-year-old man accused of killing an "American Idol" music supervisor and her husband at their Los Angeles home has been found incompetent to stand trial. Raymond Boodarian is charged with two counts of murder and one count of residential burglary for the fatal shootings of Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca. He also faces special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder during the commission of a burglary.
The residents, a man and woman in their 80s, were awake on the first floor of the home when they heard glass break. When the woman went to investigate the source of the noise, she saw a man walking up the stairs toward the second floor and a second man standing just inside the back door. Upon hearing the female resident scream, both suspects ran out the back door and were observed fleeing in a vehicle.
The suspects left the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived, but officers used automated license plate reader cameras to identify and track down the car, Shih said. Officers stopped the vehicle outside a home in the 100 block of Muirfield Drive. A search of the vehicle turned up a stolen rifle, a privately made handgun and property stolen in the burglary, as well as evidence related to other burglaries, Shih said.
Odyssey Head, 27, is also now charged with a fourth slashing. He was caught shoplifting a pair of shoes from the Flatbush Burlington Coat Factory on Tilden Ave. at about 12:50 p.m. on Sept. 14, police say. A store worker made him give the shoes back, and Head angrily slashed an 80-year-old customer in the back of his head as he stormed out of the store, according to cops.
A man has been jailed for burgling one of Damien Hirst's studios after police traced the movements of his GPS-enabled ankle tag. Liam Middleton-Gomm, 36, broke into Thames Wharf Studios in west London on 30 June and stole about 5,130 of goods including electronic items, clothing and a pram. The burglar smashed the window beside a fire exit and reached in to activate its shutter, the prosecutor, Paul Andrews, told Kingston crown court on Thursday. Middleton-Gomm, of no fixed abode, attended the studio on two occasions that evening and went to his father's property with some of the stolen goods, the court heard.

Following an investigation, LAPD officials announced Thursday they arrested two women who they suspect posed as a cleaning crew to gain access to homes in the San Fernando Valley, where they allegedly stolen thousands in cash, jewelry and high-end bags. Nikol Quiroga, 30, and Sandra Aguillon, 49, both Colombian nationals, have been booked on suspicion of grand theft and are suspected to be part of a "larger transnational organized crime group," according to a news release from the LAPD.
Brooklyn Special Victims Squad detectives charged Justin Lee, 22, of Queens Village, on Oct. 5 with attempted rape, strangulation, and burglary in connection with an early-morning attack on Oct. 4 within the 60th Precinct in southern Brooklyn. According to police, Lee allegedly broke into a private residence where a 12-year-old girl was located and tried to rape her. The burglary charge stems from his unlawful entry into the home, while the strangulation charge is related to actions taken within the act, police sources said.
