Brooklyn slasher charged after spree of razor and knife attacks
"Prosecutors say the attacks began early on October 25 aboard a northbound Q train near Cortelyou Road and East 16th Street, where a 37-year-old man suffered a deep slash from lip to cheek. Later that night, at Foster Avenue and New York Avenue, a 53-year-old man was cut across the face with a blade, requiring 25 stitches. The following morning, on October 26, a 56-year-old man was slashed across the neck on Newkirk Avenue, narrowly missing an artery."
"Investigators also tied Head to an alleged break-in that same weekend at a building on New York Avenue, where property was damaged and fires were set in both a basement laundry area and a first-floor trash compactor room. Police identified Head through a wanted flyer circulated after the arson incident. At the time of his arrest, officers recovered a kitchen knife believed to have been used in the slashings."
