A non-injury shooting occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Jan. 17 at an Adeline Street apartment building in South Berkeley. Two women forced their way into a fourth-floor unit, followed two residents to a stairwell, and later confronted them in the hallway. One suspect pointed a handgun at a victim's head; after the victim pushed the weapon away the suspect fired, missing the target and striking another apartment. A second shot was fired before the suspects fled in a car left on Ashby Avenue. Detectives identified one suspect from Vista, obtained a warrant, and charged her with burglary and firearm-related offenses after an unrelated arrest.
