A boy driving a stolen gray Honda at excessive speeds collided with another vehicle in Oakley on Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old motorist. The incident began when Antioch officers initiated a pursuit of the stolen vehicle, which was traveling at approximately 80 mph. Antioch officers ended their chase before entering Oakley, but an Oakley officer continued pursuing the Honda down Main Street through multiple intersections. A sergeant terminated the pursuit after the boy turned onto southbound O'Hara Avenue. Seconds later, the Honda collided with another motorist at Laurel Road. The driver of the Honda and two passengers sustained major injuries and were hospitalized. The stolen car and a gun left inside were reported stolen from Oakland on Sunday. Authorities are conducting a parallel investigation with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office and California Highway Patrol.
