SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KGO) -- The Santa Cruz Wharf has reopened to the public following a deadly crash. Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, a van drove through the railing and over the edge of the wharf into Monterey Bay. Divers found the van after 10 minutes, submerged upside down on its roof in about 30 feet of water.
A man was arrested late Tuesday night after crashing his vehicle into a security barrier outside the White House, prompting a swift lockdown and bomb squad response. The U.S. Secret Service confirmed that at approximately 10.37 p.m., an individual drove a vehicle into the Secret Service vehicle gate located at 17th & E St, NW, in Washington, DC. The individual was arrested and the vehicle was assessed and deemed safe, the agency added.
A vehicle crashed onto the steps of Los Angeles City Hall around 4:08 p.m. on Friday, prompting road closures in the area, according to authorities. Los Angeles Police officers are trying to make contact with the driver, who has not come out of the car in the hour since the crash, according to a department spokesperson.
Ontario's education minister is telling licensed daycare providers to immediately prevent the use of parking spaces directly adjacent to child-care facilities, after a toddler was killed when an SUV crashed into a daycare north of Toronto.
