Starlite Coney Island on Center Road will reopen in January 2026 after closure caused by a vehicle striking the building on Aug. 23. The impact cracked the building in two locations and required removal of all kitchen equipment for structural repairs. Ownership is awaiting rooftop mounting hardware, refrigeration equipment and a new cooking line, delaying the reopening. The location was gutted and will undergo a grand reopening. The Center Road restaurant will approach its 60th anniversary next year, and a second Starlite location opened on East Court Street in April 2019.
