In a news release, the chain announced that is selling twice as many holiday items as last year, and more than half of those are Target exclusives. Among the items for sale this year, the store highlighted pop-culture collaborations (Stranger Things, Wicked: For Good), as well as fashion, beauty gifts, Wondershop brand holiday decor and hundreds of exclusive toys.

The company's next dividend of $1.14 per share was paid on September 1, marking its 232nd increase.

Departing CEO Brian Cornell will become the Executive Chairman. That means he will continue to run Target, at least in part. That is not much of a punishment given the failure of his tenure. Michael Fiddelke, who has been both COO and CFO, will become the new chief executive. Given his previous jobs, he contributed almost as much to Target's failure at Cornell.
