Target implemented a holiday store overhaul across more than 2,000 locations, combining nostalgic decor and sensory elements to lure shoppers back into physical aisles. The retailer is emphasizing consistency through cleaner stores, well-stocked shelves, and friendly staff to improve the guest experience. Recent performance showed declining comparable sales in six of nine quarters, prompting plans to cut roughly 1,000 corporate roles and eliminate about 800 open positions. Incoming CEO Michael Fiddelke plans to refocus on core brand strengths and the guest experience. A New Jersey store was transformed into a whimsical Alpine world as part of the effort.
