Detectives in Brooklyn are questioning a man who allegedly slashed a commuter in the face on board a subway train Thursday morning following an argument, police reported. The incident happened on a Manhattan-bound A train as it rolled into the Nostrand Avenue station at about 11:40 a.m. on Dec. 11. According to police sources, a 51-year-old man was sitting inside a train car when a 19-year-old man took the seat next to him.
Murder, grand larceny, auto, and burglary dropped, the data show, with murder down 40 percent - from five incidents to three - compared to the same period last year. Murder was down significantly citywide, the NYPD announced on Tuesday, and November 2025 saw the lowest number of killings since the city began keeping crime records. But rape, assault, grand larceny, and robbery all rose in Brooklyn in November.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, 27-year-old Odyssey Head is wanted by police for running amok through the borough. The first incident occurred when Head allegedly entered a residential building located at 1353 New York Ave. in East Flatbush around 5 a.m. on Oct. 25. Once inside, he allegedly damaged a washer and dryer unit and set fire to clothing. He then fled the building. No injuries were reported.
Police in Brooklyn are investigating after a man was found dead Tuesday night, possibly after being set on fire and falling from a roof. According to police sources, cops from the 61st Precinct rushed to 1930 East 2nd St. in Gravesend at around 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 23 after they received a report of a man on fire. Arriving on the scene, the officers say they discovered a man unconscious and unresponsive.
