According to police sources, cops from the 61st Precinct rushed to 1930 East 2nd St. in Gravesend at around 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 23 after they received a report of a man on fire. Arriving on the scene, the officers say they discovered a man unconscious and unresponsive."

Sources also reported that a backpack containing a knife, lighter fluid, and drain cleaner was discovered on the rooftop of a nearby apartment building.
