Daheem Morris, a 27-year-old NYPD officer, was arrested and charged with rape, sexual abuse, forcible touching, and sexual misconduct for an alleged assault on September 8. The victim, who knew Morris for approximately two years through mutual friends, reported that he forced himself on her in a car after a party despite her repeated objections and attempts to resist. She disclosed the incident to her cousin the same day. Morris, who joined the NYPD in October 2022 and was assigned to Police Service Area 1 in Brooklyn, was released without bail and scheduled to return to court on May 8. He has received six commendations for meritorious police duty.
