Murder, grand larceny auto and burglary declined, with murder falling 40% from five incidents to three. Rape increased more than 60%, from 28 incidents to 45, with the Brooklyn North patrol seeing the largest rise. Brownsville's 73rd Precinct reported rape up 600%, and Bushwick and Greenpoint each saw a 300% increase. Assault rose 13% to 610 incidents, with major spikes in the 69th and 71st Precincts. Robbery rose 1.6% and grand larceny rose 5.8%.
