The baseball team announced Monday that post-season tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday. The sale includes the maximum number of potential games to be played at Toronto's Rogers Centre during the first two rounds of the post-season American League Wild Card Series beginning Sept. 30 and Division Series beginning Oct. 4.
The Federal Trade Commission and a bipartisan group of state attorneys general sued Ticketmaster and its parent company Thursday, saying they are forcing consumers to pay more to see live events through a variety of illegal tactics. The FTC said Live Nation and its subsidiary, Ticketmaster, have deceived artists and consumers by advertising lower ticket prices than what consumers must pay and falsely claiming to impose strict limits on the number of tickets consumers can buy for an event.
Between November 1, 2022, and December 30, 2023, a group of three individuals allegedly used a network of websites to purchase over 379,776 tickets from Ticketmaster, spending $57 million. They resold those tickets for nearly $64 million.
You were right to try to resolve the issue on your own and document your communications with the company. You paid a premium price for your tickets, so a refund for the inconvenience you experienced would have been completely justified.
