On Friday, an off-duty State Parks peace officer/lifeguard located a family in distress near the water line around 1 p.m., according to the release, as an adult male was attempting to rescue his daughter. She had been pulled out by waves that were estimated to be about 15-20 feet high. The girl's mother reportedly attempted to reach out to both father and daughter and was also swept into the water.
The cause of death has been revealed for Thomas Ocheltree and daughters Alexandra Ocheltree, 12, and Mackenzie Ocheltree, 9, who were all apparently killed in a murder-suicide last month in SF's Westwood neighborhood. All three were shot and found in their beds, and mother Paula Truong was found hanged in the garage, and her death was ruled a suicide. No further details about the case have been made public.
