"He don't say nothing,"
"But he listened to me. I said, 'Come on, poppa,' and he came inside with me."
"Oh, my God, a child out at this time,"
"He was just there in the parking lot alone."
A barefoot boy believed to be about five years old was found unsupervised in the parking lot of a Far Rockaway laundromat early Tuesday morning. A Laundry City Express worker encountered the child at about 5:20 a.m., described him as nonverbal but responsive, and brought him inside, gave him water, and called police. The child wore beige shorts and a white T-shirt, had short black braids, and weighed about 80 pounds. Police took him to the 101st Precinct, the Administration for Children's Services was notified, surveillance is being reviewed, and a photo was released with a Crime Stoppers tip line.
