"I'm thrilled for this nomination," Cox said. "I've said this before, and I think it's important to say, there's an amazing French actor by the name of Maxence Cazorla who did almost all of the motion capture for that role in that game. So any nomination or any credit I get, I really have to give to him because I kind of believe that the performance of that character is really down to him, and my voice is just part of that process."
Dispatch feels like it harkens back to the early 2010s--a time when Telltale Games was creating incredible episodic adventure games inspired by graphic novels, superhero stories were beginning to fill to the brim with quips to counterbalance the angst of the genre in the 2000s, and office-based TV comedies were everywhere. If not for snippets of gameplay, Dispatch would simply be a great TV show that I would want to tune into every week.
Fresh previews just dropped for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, that big Nintendo holiday blockbuster we still haven't gotten a dedicated Direct for, and they document a troubling discovery. At least for the game's opening areas, the stoic bounty hunter Samus Aran isn't alone. Instead, she's accompanied by what is reportedly a very annoying Galactic Federation trooper named Myles MacKenzie. A new trailer reveals he's not the game's only sidekick, either.
In today's first trailer for next year's The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, there's one aspect that stuck out as very peculiar. Throughout the two minutes of footage, the titular star speaks only two words (unless you count a "Wahoo!"), and they're incredibly out of character for the mustachioed good guy. "It's trash," sneers Chris Pratt voicing Mario, looking at Bowser's painting while sanctimoniously closing his eyes in the least Mario-like moment I've ever seen.
The livestream will be available Wednesday, November 12, at 9:00 a.m. ET for the special Nintendo Direct. "Please note that no game information will be included in this presentation," the company cautioned. Still, that gives us the rest of the day to wrap our minds around whichever new stars have been cast to bring the latest trip back to the Mushroom Kingdom to life.
In the woods, "non-binary goth" Tristan, voiced by Kai Ava Hauser, and "geeky guy" Benji (Winston Chen) discuss keeping in touch after the competition ends. "Maybe as more than just friends," Benji suggests. He panics and begins rambling apologies but Tristan steps forward and kisses him to silence him. "You sure you want to give this a go?" Benji asks. Tristan responds: "I'd love to. I mean, it's kind of what we talked about. We can be out of place together."
A man completes an absurd but humanity-affirming journey in Minecraft. Control finally gets Hideo Kojima's voiceover on console. And the first indicator of Ghost of Yotei sales is a potentially impressive one. Welcome to the latest Morning Checkpoint, Kotaku's daily roundup of gaming news and culture. My co-author, Zack Zwiezen, is out on vacation to parts unknown for a while so in the meantime, you're stuck with me.
I know it's cliche to say "this is a dream come true" but in the case of , it really is. My first hobby/love was gaming. Before I left primary school, we were asked in assembly to tell the school what we wanted to do for a career. I played a VHS of video game trailers and said I wanted to make video games.
Another day in the 21st century, another fresh round of frustration and accusations that a company is using artificial intelligence to replace the labor of human beings. This time around, Françoise Cadol, Lara Croft's French voice actress as heard in the localized version of Tomb Raider IV - VI, has issued a legal notice to Aspyr Media, which is owned by the Embracer Group, over accusations that AI was used to touch up her performances.
"It is going to have all of the same energy and the same love and the same fun of the original run of the series, so fans can really expect to find everything they loved about the original run plus a lot more."
"As actors in games and beyond, Neil, Ben, and I have leaned on each other through some extremely grueling times. In those moments, we exchanged some of the horror stories that built the foundations of this game. Not only do they bring considerable talent to the project, but they also helped create a space in which we could all be truly raw and honest."
