Konami released Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater as a modern remake available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Lori Alan, who voiced The Boss, shared a photo in full cosplay of the character. Original voice recordings from Metal Gear Solid 3 were retained, while actor David Hayter expressed a desire to reprise Naked Snake. Brett Driver provided facial motion capture for Naked Snake's performance and received praise from Hayter. Producer Noriaki Okamura expressed hope that Hideo Kojima would see the remake as respectful. Kojima declined to play Delta and is developing a separate MGS-like project, Physint. Konami plans a Fox Hunt multiplayer mode without cross-play. GameSpot rated the game a 9.
The original recordings for Alan and the rest of the MSG 3 voice cast were retained for Metal Gear Solid Delta, although Naked Snake actor David Hayter expressed his desire for a second chance to play the role. Hayter was also the original voice of Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 4. Voice actor Brett Driver also shared a post about his role in Metal Gear Solid Delta, which called upon the actor to provide the mo-cap for Naked Snake's facial performance.
Hayter replied to the original post and stated, "I'm thinking you nailed it, kid. Nicely done." After 2 years of keeping this quiet, I'm proud to say I had the opportunity to provide the facial performance capture | Emotions for Snake in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Delta. @DavidBHayter Will ALWAYS be the one & only Snake, I tried my best to do his original work justice. pic.twitter.com/8rfgj74LFV - Brett Driver (@brettsk8) August 28, 2025
