Thousands of students in school districts across New York show up to school while dealing with homelessness, according to state data.Nearly 80,000 New York students were homeless during the 2021-2022 school year, the data says.The vast majority of those - more than 66,000 - were in New York City.That's 7.3% of all students in the city.
