Two Brooklyn men, Randy Jenkins and Dave Sterling, were arrested in Nassau County for using counterfeit currency to make purchases at a CVS in Roslyn Heights. Both men, aged 29, face multiple charges, including criminal possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny, after an investigation followed a call to the police. They pleaded not guilty during their arraignment. Despite their arrest, local authorities indicated that there has not been an increase in counterfeit bill incidents recently on Long Island.
Officer Kenneth Palmieri, a police spokesperson, said the department has not seen a spike in people using forged bills in recent months, emphasizing, 'There's no rise in activity of this occurrence.'
