Nassau County police said Friday that 38-year-old Brooklynite Tara Prentice had attempted to leave Bingo Wholesale with the merchandise just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday. When confronted by a store employee, Prentice swung a wooden object at the employee and became combative, resisting arrest when police arrived, police said."

On Thursday just before 4:30 p.m., 38-year-old Tara Prentice allegedly attempted to leave Bingo Wholesale in Inwood with unpaid merchandise. A store employee confronted Prentice, and she swung a wooden object at the employee and became combative. Nassau County police arrived and said Prentice resisted arrest as officers attempted to take her into custody. Charges filed include first-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, petit larceny and second-degree harassment. Prentice is from Brooklyn and an arraignment was scheduled for Friday.
