LFB Dozens of firefighters have extinguished a fire in the basement of a data centre in east London. London Fire Brigade (LFB) said around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines were called to Nutmeg Lane, Blackwall at 04:50 GMT on Saturday. The fire broke out in a battery room containing lead-acid batteries and was brought under control before 07:00. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.

The fire has now been brought under control by firefighters but crews remain on scene to fully extinguish the fire and to dampen down. No one has been reported injured. People in the area were advised to keep their windows and doors closed at the height of the fire due to smoke travelling from the incident. A spokesperson for LFB said: Battersea Park Road remains closed between the junctions of Queenstown Road and Havelock Terrace.

BOROUGH PARK - A fire inside a Borough Park building left six civilians and one firefighter injured on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The blaze started at 8:50 a.m. on the second floor of the building. FDNY said 21 units and 79 firefighters and EMS workers were at the scene. The fire was put out at 10:10 a.m. One person is in critical condition while five civilians and a firefighter sustained minor injuries.
